Just Flight Airbus update available

by mark.avey on January 31, 2007

Just Flight have released a patch for the DVD version (download version soon) of their Airbus A340 to allow it to run in Flight Simulator X:

The DVD-ROM version of our Airbus A340-500/600, originally developed for FS2004, is now fully compatible with FSX as well as FS2004. All DVD-ROM copies of this add-on will now be compatible with both host sims.

An updated Download version will shortly be available, and a patch to upgrade the FS2004 DVD-ROM version will also be released shortly.

The A340-500/600 was the first product released in our F-Lite range. It was specially designed to be very high in quality and yet easy to operate. If you are fed up with ultra-complex FMCs or are new to modern airliner operations, then the F-Lite range may well be just what you’re looking for.

A high-quality model design is coupled to very high-quality textures, animations and super flight model characteristics - you can admire your aircraft, then jump in and fly the world’s long-distance routes without having to go to college to learn how to do it.

The A340-500/600 is available now for £19.99/€29.95/$34.99.

FS9 to FSX migration tool

by mark.avey on January 31, 2007

Vinet have released a tool that makes it easier for you to copy your library of aircraft from earlier versions of Flight Simulator to Flight Simulator X:

Basically, it is designed to process the FS2004 folder. However, it is possible to also select FS2002 and even FS2000.

FSX does not accept .DLL files and gauges from versions prior to FS2000. For FS2000 and FS2002 aircraft FSX will display warning messages: you can just accept them This tool analyses aircraft.cfg, mdl and air files to find all ressources required. For instance, it looks at a mdl file to extract a list of the textures used and verifies if they exist. It also searches for non standard Windows DLL’s.

Sometimes there is a lot of unused textures listed in the visual model file. The migration preset (in file.options) desactivates the logging for this particular category.

NOTE: Some 3rd party aircraft use sophisticated gauges and DLL. They may require an update in order to function under FSx.

For more information or to purchase, visit the FlightSim Pilot Shop.

FS-Addons back online

by mark.avey on January 30, 2007

FS-Addons disappeared a while back due to problems with their hosts. They’re now back online:

As promised in the New Year we would upgrade the site and make massive improvements, now they are happening! We have returned with a new domain as promised, www.fs-addons.net, which as you may notice has also brought our new contact email, admin@fs-addons.net. Alongside these improvements we now have a massive 40GB server space which will allow us to upload thousands of add-ons, to follow this we also have 900GB Monthly Bandwidth which will ensure that each and every user to download add-ons from our site will have 100% capabilities just like everyone else.

Now we have more server space and band width we can get to work on major projects, the downloads system will soon be modified and we do have more planned updates for the future. We are also generating revenue which will mainly be used for advertising but will also be used for software upgrades and future competitions.
