Real Scenes releases Redlands Airport
Real Scenes has released their Redlands Airport add-on for Flight Simulator 9:
Redlands Municipal Airport is a city owned airport with a 4,505 foot runway. Compared to Flabob, it has a much more modern look. New hangars were added in the past few years making room for even more aircraft. For those who fly large general aviation aircraft, or even small jets, Redlands makes for a nice place to base your flying at or a fun fly in.
What Real Scenes™ Redlands Airport Scenery has to offer
- Photo-real terrain covering the surrounding area of Redlands
- All photo-real hangars
- Scenery designed for ultimate accuracy with coordinates from Google Earth
- AI traffic to make the airport feel “alive”

DreamFlyer Motion Platform for Flight Simulators
DreamFlyer have released details of their gimbal framed full motion platform for flight simulators that has taken over 5 years to develop. The device simulates movement, pitch, roll, vibration, pilot lead and pilot-induced oscillation!
I might have to try and clear some room in the attic for this one
The device appears to be in the late stages of development (check out the very impressive web site) and close to being released. The following videos are of a prototype system:
No specific price is mentioned, but it does state “no other product on the market offers this level of full motion flight simulation for less than $3,600″, so I guess that’s what they’re aiming at.
