The folks over at AlphaSim have certainly been busy whilst I’ve been on holiday! Here’s their latest news from the past week:
Heinkel He111H
New addition to the Luftwaffe section - the Heinkel He111H ! The iconic Luftwaffe bomber arrives at AlphaSim in truly outstanding style ! The three models demonstrate some common payload setups with droppable bombs and torpedos, the four texture sets are magnificent artwork in their own right, depicting two green camo variants as well as a North Africa scheme and a beautifully-weathered Russian Campaign Winter scheme. The exquisite modelling continues on the inside with a captivating v-c, complete with an amazing array of mousable levers and accurate period gauges. As usual, a full-FSX standard model is the best way to see this creation, all features (bumps, shads & blooms) are there. Custom fx provide lots of startup smoke (and v-c rain & exhaust trails in FS9) and the custom-made Petersen soundset add the final touch. Flight dynamics are accurate, so expect realistic behaviour in all regimes. All in all, a ‘Premier Range’ model which belongs in the collection of any serious MSFS WW2 fan.
Bien Hoa v2
New addition to the Scenery section - Bien Hoa v2 ! This busy South Vietnam base throbs to the sounds of taxying C-130E’s as F-4C Phantoms roar into life and A-4E Skyhawks soar overhead. Version two of the popular AlphaSim scenery has been made with AI use in mind, three quality AI models now really add to the atmosphere. The sprawling parking areas and shelters are all enabled in AFCAD to user flight plans and layouts are virtually limitless. Vehicles and static aircraft further populate the base, which is available for FS9 and FSX. The two NV bases up North are still there too, both Vinh and Kep are represented, with static a/c and are landable.
RAF Leuchars
New addition to the Scenery section - RAF Leuchars ! The famous RAF base is depicted in its present-day state, featuring busy AI operations - Tornado F.3’s, C-130J’s and Beechjet 400A’s are active around at the base and in the air, all are very high quality AI and fully animated.

de Havilland Vampire T.11
New full-FSX update for the de Havilland Vampire T.11 ! The new FSX version now provides the full FSX spec of bumps, shadows and bloom as well as a re-profiled nose, improved pilots, new underwing tanks and a more authentic Emerald Green scheme for the ‘Admiral’s Barge’. The aircraft mods are also available in a v1.1 update for the FS9 version.
