Alphasim Neptune upgraded for FSX

by mark.avey on July 15, 2007

Alphasim have released version 2 of their P2V-7 Neptune, adding Flight Simulator X support. This is not just a compatibility update, but takes advantage of the additional features possible with FSX. It is a free upgrade for existing registered owners.

Neptune_FSX2 New update available now for the P2V-7 Neptune ! This free update brings the Neptune to full FSX standard. Included in the new v2 download are some awesome FSX special fx - reflective textures, bump-mapping, self-shadowing, glass bloom and new v-c glass textures.

Download the v2 FSX Zip by logging into your personal download area in the Shop (the ‘My Downloads’ icon’) and access the Neptune download page by clicking a download link in your Recent Purchases section. This will use up a download, so just mail us if you need more or would just like to have it reset. If you bought before the new store went online in Jan. 06, mail us and we will send a temporary link. Unzip as usual to the root folder of FSX, overwrite all when asked. You can also first delete the original v1 folder from ‘Airplanes’ if you want to keep it tidy, but this is not strictly necessary. Expect more full-FSX updates for older models soon!

Certainly a different aircraft, and, the screenshots look to be of Alphasim’s fine quality. I have their T6 Texan/Harvard and can attest to the great work and detail they lavish on their aircraft. It’s worth heading over to their site just to see some wonderful videos! For military buffs it is a must visit, ‘NOW’!!!
