More helicopter goodness from AlphaSim in the shape of their newly released Mi-28 ‘Havoc’ for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 9:

Havoc_3 New addition to the Soviet section - the Mi-28 ‘Havoc’ ! Known nowadays as the ‘Nighthunter’, the Mi-28N overcame initial doubts to become the standard Russian anti-tank helicopter. Its rugged effectivness is captured in the three texture schemes provided in the AlphaSim package. The unusual box-like cockpit can be experienced in the detailed v-c and a superb panel suite includes a HUD and of course carefully-made Russian instruments.

The animations include a swivelling 30mm cannon and nose FLIR, both cockpit doors and both the rocket tubes and very lifelike pilot figures can be toggled on/off with a keypress. Of course a soundset is provided and custom fx are used for rotorwash dust clouds and a faint smoke trail from the two Klimov turboshafts. The flight model provides a stable and realistic representation of the Mil’s performance and can be flown at all difficulty levels. The FSX version really brings the rugged character of the airframe to life with amazing bump-mapping, self-shadowing and reflection bloom effects. A must-have for serious helicopter and Russian aviation fans !

For FSX and FS2004 only. Filesize FSX : 23MB, FS9 : 24MB. Price approx. $32.25 USD, £16, 23.75 EUR, 39.25 AUD.
