AlphaSim Rutan 61 Long-EZ first glimpse

In a real departure for AlphaSim who have, until now, concentrated in military aircraft, they have provided a first glimpse of their forthcoming Rutan 61 Long-EZ. The internal screenshots look stunning, as can be seen from this taster:

OK, the wait is over- our surprise release is the Rutan 61 Long-EZ. We have recreated the radical Long-EZ in stunning detail. The Long-EZ is an incredibly popular aircraft with home build/ GA pilots all over the world.

The highlight of this package is a major step forward by AlphaSim- our new ‘RealGauge’ technology. Every gauge is hardcoded into the model, with incredibly high resolution textures and almost no framerate loss compared to a 2D equivalent. ‘RealGauge’ technology provides true 3D instruments, not just 2d bitmaps pasted onto a linear shell. The motion of the instruments is perfectly fluid, with instant response times compared to 2D xml.

We are certain that this aircraft is revolutionary for both FS9 and FSX customers.

Whilst 3D gauges may have been done before, we feel that we are taking the technlogy to a new evolution.

The product will contain both FS9 and FSX (sp2/Accel compatible, Full-FSX) versions, and will be on sale at the amazing low price of $25USD.

The package contains a true custom sound set by Turbine Sound Studios, as well as 5-6 exterior paints, 2 different interior sets, and three variants depicting the Long-EZ at different stages in its long and successful history.

This also marks a departure from the military-only product lines of AlphaSim to date. Expect even more exciting non-military developments in future.
