FS Earth for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 9 has been released. This application is an interface between the simulator and Google Earth (probably the best free software ever created) and allows you to, amongst other things, see your flight plotted in real time in Google Earth.
This is a pretty cool idea. It’s like a real-time external moving map. You can also see AI and multi-player aircraft in Google Earth and import a flight plan which you will also see on the map.
There is a demo available, restricted to Anchorage, Alaska only and time limited to 5 minutes, but that should be enough to give you a small taste of what it can do.
