X-Plane being used for "real world" pilot training

by mark.avey on June 6, 2007

In Austin Meyer’s regular email update, he’s provided some insight into the use of X-Plane for “real world” pilot training:

“I am getting a special new version of X-Plane to CESSNA to use to train every one of their new single-engine customers… if you buy a new Cessna, you will learn to fly the G-1000 on X-Plane before you take up the real plane!

I am tuning X-Plane for Japan Air Lines to train THEIR pilots on the  G-1000-equipped Beech Baron.”

What a terrific use for a flight simulator - get the pilot used to the kit without having to first take to the air :)

LOL! FlightSimX is “primarily” Flight Simulator X related, but I do occasionally mention articles relating to other sims, such as previous posts on Condor and FlightGear, not to mention earlier version of MSFS.
