IVAO Virtual Sky - Issue 2 released

by mark.avey on April 21, 2008

IVAO has released the second issue of their freely downloadable magazine - Virtual Sky. It’s an extremely well polished work and well worth a download. To be honest, I’m amazed it’s free. I’ve seen a lot of commercial work at a lot lower quality than this!

We are happy to present before you the second issue of IVAO Virtual Sky Magazine.

A little bit of statistics, before we start !. Our first issue had a little over 25,000 downloads for which we owe our sincere thanks to all our avid readers. We have received several e-mails and forum posts congratulating us on the outstanding issue. We are glad that you all liked it and found it informative.

It is our constant endeavor to improve the contents of the magazine. We have now included an improved section on training and we hope you will all find it useful. Also, in this issue we have an exclusive article from the famous author Captain Mike Ray.

Very soon on a trial basis we will be launching of the second issue of this magazine in three more languages viz., French, German and Spanish. Our idea is to reach out to as many interested members of our flight simulation community, without language posing any barriers.

Sit back and enjoy your journey through the April 2008 issue.

You can download your copy of the IVAO-Virtual Sky from this link http://www.ivao.aero/newsletter/newsmirror.asp

Also, if you like the magazine, please support us by spreading the word among your friends in the flight simulation community.

Unofficial Airbus A320 Manual Print Edition Released

by mark.avey on February 9, 2008

The Unofficial Airbus A320 Manual Print Edition by the esteemed Captain Mike Ray is now available:

This is a must own book for the Airbus A320 simmer.

Written in a style that does not talk down to the beginner, or put the experts to sleep. While each page is crammed with technical information and data, the style of writing makes the information easy to read and understand. The overall feel for the book is light and written with a style and humor so the even most unfamiliar reader will easily begin to understand and appreciate the complexity of the topic. However it also has the details that veteran simmers want. Technical descriptions and how-to flows to get you up and keep you flying like a real airline pilot.

When shown the pre-publication copy the FAA certified Check Captain who proofed the material said "It is a work of art."

This is a brand new document and not to be confused with the Airbus A300 Series manual for flight simmers.

The 6 X 8 1/2 inch size is complemented by the unique lay-flat wire-o binding. Covered with a laminated wrap around cover it is intended for constant use around the computer workplace. The paper was carefully chosen to allow marking and pen notations to be made. The hefty volume will be a constant companion for those simmers who want to master the operation of the Airbus 320 family of airplanes.
