Congratulations to PieEater for winning the first FlightSimX competition. You will soon be the proud owner of a shiny new copy of FS Global X, courtesy of Flight1, with an impressive 204 posts over the past month.

My thanks to both of you and everyone else who has contributed to the site. I hope none of you stop posting now the competition is over All of the comments help to make the site a more enjoyable experience for the readers, so keep them coming.

Flight Simulator videos are certainly the hot topic in the Flight Sim world this week. SimTube now joins the announcements list with details of their first Flight Simulator video competition, details of which can be found over on their forum.

This looks like it’s going to be a monthly competition. This months theme is “Prop aircraft” and the prize is a very tasty TrackIR 4, which I reviewed here.

I’m pleased to announce our first ever competition in conjunction with our kind friends at Flight1, who have kindly donated this months prize - a copy of FS Global X, valued at £39.99! This product is compatible with both Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 9/2004 (FS Global 2008 ships with individual sets of data for FS2004 and FSX, with a total of 6 DVDs).

The competition is a simple one. The person who posts the most comments on FlightSimX between midnight tonight (11th June, 2007) and midnight on the 10th July (all dates/times are UK) will win themselves a nice shiny copy of FS Global X.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, there are some rules!

1. Comments must be related to the original post. Anything like “Isn’t it a lovely day today”, whilst very nice, will not count! Digressions are okay, as that’s the way these things go, but at least keep it Flight Simulator related!
2. Some thought must go into the comment. Comments like “Yes”, or “I agree” won’t count.
3. No duplicate comments - please don’t try saying the same thing 3 million times.
4. Multiple comments per post are okay, so long as you’re not repeating yourself.
5. I’ll be using your user name to keep count, so make sure you use the same name for all comments.
6. My comments won’t count.
7. I’m sure I don’t need to say this, but just in case: No offensive, rude, libelous or otherwise unpleasant comments allowed. Anyone who makes such posts shall have their comments and account deleted.
8. My decision is final. I’ll post the stats on the site the day after the competition closes so everyone can see how they did.

I hope to run a competition at least once a month from now. If anyone has any great ideas for future competitions, let me know!
