Flight Simulator 9 still top sim in SimFlight poll

by mark.avey on January 12, 2008

The SimFlight Network have been running a poll for a while asking readers which sim they use most of the time. Not too surprisingly (except maybe for Microsoft?) is that FS9 is still way out front with 54%, followed by FSX at 31% and X-Plane at 13%.

There’s certainly still life in the "old" sim yet!

How am I doing?

by mark.avey on October 21, 2007

One of the quandaries for a blogger is how many times to post each day. Too few times and readers might lose interest, too many and readers might get overloaded. It’s a difficult balance and it’s all too easy to swing one way or the other. Another danger of posting too often is that new stories can find their way towards the bottom of the page quickly.

Obviously, it tends to depend on how much news there is for a given day, but it’s not unusual for me to post 5 or more times a day. I’m more than happy to do so, but I don’t want to “bombard” readers.

So, how am I doing here on FlightSimX? I’ve created a new poll which you can see on the left sidebar. I’d be grateful to get your feedback.

Whilst I’m on the subject of feedback, please feel free to offer any suggestions at any time via the Contact page.

Saitek Pro Yoke and Throttle looks to be a winner

by mark.avey on July 30, 2007

If the stats for FlightSimX are anything to go by, Saitek’s new Pro Yoke and Throttle (see announcement here) is going to be a top seller for them. FlightSimX is getting about 300 - 400 page views daily purely from people looking for details about the new hardware. As the release date gets closer, I can only see this getting more popular.

I wonder how CH Products are feeling about this? They’ve had a long term monopoly on yokes and throttles for simulator fans. Could there be a price drop coming soon from them?

As it looks like it’s going to be a winner for Saitek, I’ve added a new poll which you can find at the bottom left of the site, or you can check the results here. Go cast your vote now!

Also, if you intend to purchase the Yoke and/or Throttle, don’t forget you can pre-order them from SimWare Simulations.
