EuroScope launches

astate04 The long awaited EuroScope has now officially launched and is available for download:

We are extremely happy to announce that finally EuroScope is available for the VATSIM community.

he long-awaited software you are about to use is a ground-braking innovation in the virtual air traffic controlling world. Bringing state-of-the art, real-life ATC systems to a virtual environment, EuroScope will make controlling on VATSIM as real as it gets! Inspired by solutions and feedbacks from real-life European air traffic service providers and long years of online controlling experience on VATSIM, EuroScope was created to serve all needs a controller may have. Controlling will be safer, more fun, more inspiring! Here are just some of its most appreciated features:

Plan ahead

Until now, information was given about the current and past position of an aircraft. Reading and understanding position and flightplan data, EuroScope can not only project the path of an aircraft at given navaids and times (and possible conflicts), but by working with sectors, it predicts when the aircraft reaches a boundary! Novel handling of lateral and vertical spread of sectors even helps you to identify concerned and “don’t bother” flights. Moreover, with the incorporation of a VATSIM server information module, even in offline mode, you can see the situation in the virtual skies and prepare for traffic loads!

Communicate

EuroScope speaks for you: as in real life, not only a new altitude, but headings and direct waypoints are all transferred in the aircraft tags to neighboring controllers. Voice communication is easier: you can easily setup frequencies and servers, check who is on the frequency; while ground-ground intercom and override are also possible. To impress pilots, you can easily create and update voice ATIS! Even without recording the whole message, just with typing!!!

Fully Customizable

Designed to accommodate all kinds of traffic situations, EuroScope allows you to tailor your radar screen according to your preferences (or real-life imitation requirements). Customize and freely move around aircraft tags to have a clear picture even when the skies are most crowded, show or hide all individual or grouped items on your screen, from navaids to airports, from sector lines to airways, SIDs and STARs. Also adjust colors, line types, sizes to fool even a real-life controller!

Most friendly to users

Providing a large radar screen (even works with multiple screens!) and a menu system of easy-to-use icons and clear, task oriented dialogue windows, EuroScope is very practical and straight-forward, allowing you to concentrate on controlling in a most enjoyable atmosphere.

Training

Not sure how you mastered the techniques? Are you preparing for a practical exam or a checkride? EuroScope’s built-in air traffic simulator allows you to train offline; create scenarios and adjust them along the way (e.g. have an emergency) so next time you are on the air, nothing can surprise you!
