More on Microsoft ESP
Microsoft’s ESP - their professional simulation product - now has its own dedicated web site. There’s not a huge amount of information on the site yet, but they’ve already got dedicated sections for Developers and Partners.
In related news, Acron Engineering has announced their first two products for ESP - Acron 3D Modeller and Acron ESP™ HLA Interface.
The Acron 3D Modeller allows users to create and optimize 3D Models for their simulation environment. It is the premier 3D modeling application for real-time visual simulation and includes Serious Games model format import and export capability. Models created with the application can be used directly with Microsoft ESP and the Acron 3D Modeller allows the conversion of other model formats for re-use with Microsoft ESP.
The new Acron ESP HLA Interface released today allows military simulators to take advantage of the Microsoft ESP platform for immersive learning experiences.
You can read the rest of the press release over on the Acron site.

This probably has been discussed before but how does this relate to FS? Do you think that sometime in the future this simulation engine -or a subset or washed down version- will be used? I see it as a remote possibility.
Hi Antonio. I think this is extremely relevant. I’m sure Microsoft used much of its experience from the Flight Simulator franchise in developing ESP and I can see future versions of MSFS using material from ESP. After all, why re-invent the wheel?
