There’s an interesting video posted on SimHQ by Chris “BeachAV8R” Frishmuth comparing a “real life” flight in a King Air B200 with a simulated flight in the FSX King Air 350. The video shows both the real and simulated aircraft side by side during take-off, a small section of the flight and landing:
“After doing a short video for the FSX Demo last year I recently found an opportunity to somewhat duplicate that concept. A few weeks ago we were departing out of Asheville, NC (KAVL) to return to our home base at Charlotte, NC (KCLT) so I shoved my video camera up on the glareshield to videotape the departure and arrival. Once I got home I fired up FSX and tried, as best as possible, to duplicate the profile and conditions. The real life aircraft is a King Air B200 and the FSX aircraft is the King Air 350. All things considered, FSX and reality mesh fairly well.”
Here’s a direct link to the video.
I agree with the author that FSX did a pretty good job of simulating real life in this instance.
