AlphaSim have added the Saab Gripen to their impressively expanding collection of add-ons for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 9/2004:
New addition to the Other AF section - the SAAB Gripen ! The dramatic Swedish 21st century fighter is depicted in this latest AlphaSim package in both single and two-seater variants. Texture schemes are included for all the main operators outside Sweden (Czech, Hungarian and South African air forces). Great care was taken in the creation of the Multi Function Displays which are very close approximations of the real thing. A HUD is included in both 2D panel and v-c views. The usual special fx in the form of AB flames, smoke, contrails and flashover really bring this striking aircraft to life as it turns and burns the virtual skies ! The soundset rips the air apart as the Gripen thunders skyward. A full FSX version brings you bump-mapping and lovely self-shadowing effects as you throw the Gripen around - which you can with great realism thanks to a very carefully honed flight model.
