I AM AN AVID SIM PILOT, I FLY WITH EASTERN AND AMIERICAN. I USE VATSIM AND HAVE OVER 2000 HRS OF TIME. I’M ALSO A PILOT IN THE REAL WORLD. AT THIS TIME I DO NOT LIKE THE NEW FLIGHTSIM X. I PREFER THE CENTURY OF FLIGHT. THOUGH THE PROGRAM SEEM COOL IT DOESN’T WORK THE SAME. WHERE DO U ADD ON AIRCRAFT, NO INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN, FRAME RATE TO SLOW AND I HAVE A POWERFUL COMPUTER. AT THIS TIME SORRY I’;M NOT USING IT. I’M ON A LOT OF FORUMS AND THE CONSESUS OF OPINION IS DITTO’D. IF YOU HAVE SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE THIS EXPERIENCE BETTER I’D LOVE TO HEAR IT.

You’re right in many respects, but remember back to the launch of FS9 and earlier versions. We’ve had 3 years to get FS9 running sweet as a nut for us. It won’t be long before the same is true for FSX. Try some of the tweaks mentioned elsewhere here. I’ve gone through them and have gained an enormous performance boost from them.

Dr. J , I agree with you also , Its the worst and VERY disappointing. I have a P4 , 3.8 with 3gig mem. , and a 500.00
videocard. And its choppy , NOW WHAT?

Guys, you really need to look at getting some optimisation done. John, I’ve got a machine roughly half your spec (2Ghz processor, 256Mb video card, 1Gb RAM) and I’m getting 50+ FPS and smooth as silk. Sure, I’ve chopped autogen and I’ve applied a good few tweaks, but it’s now running very sweetly.
