Official Microsoft FSX support and ActiveSky upgrade

by mark.avey on October 30, 2006

Microsoft have set up a support page for FSX. At the moment, it looks fairly generic, but there are links to Performance, Setup etc, so they may offer some more specific tuning advice in the future.

In other news, HiFiSim are offering a free upgrade of ActiveSky, the real-time weather application, to existing registered owners of previous ActiveSky versions, adding support for FSX. As a long time user of ActiveSky, I’m pleased they’re offering the free upgrade. As well as offering extremely realistic weather updates, you can also set an option to limit visibility (I set mine to 20 miles). This makes for a more realistic view and gives the sim a performance boost to boot.
