RealAir, produces of some of the best flight simulator add-ons, have announced their upgrade policy for Flight Simulator X:
“RealAir is committed to upgrading current aircraft and developing new aircraft for FSX. We will also continue to provide sales and support for our FS2004 aircraft. In due course we will be releasing FSX upgrades for our SF260, Spitfire and Citabria, Scout and Decathlon Packages. As soon as the upgrades are ready for release we will make an announcement on our home page. In the meantime please visit our FSX Upgrade Policy page for important information and details on what we will be offering.”
In summary, they’ll be offering a free upgrade that will allow existing aircraft to run in FSX, with some limitations, and will be charging a small fee for a fully functioning (with additional features not found in the FS9 versions) FSX upgrade.
This seems a fair policy. There’s a lot of work involved in getting some aircraft to work with FSX and, in those cases, I don’t see why anybody should have to work for free.
