SlewAssist for FSX
FSWidgets has announced the availability of SlewAssist for Flight Simulator X. This product allows you to manually slew any aircraft with great precision. I can see this would be handy if you wanted to position your aircraft at a particular longitude/latitude to, for instance, investigate a specific landmark. From their web site:
“The FSWidgets SlewAssist is, fundamentally, software that permits mouse controlled movement of the aircraft during flight, in many different ways and combinations.
Although the software is called “SlewAssist”, it is important to note that its capabilities may be used when FSX is in Slew Mode, Pause Mode, or Regular Flight Mode.”
One of the “Examples of use” they quote is “Anyone wanting the ability to slew from a remote machine, perhaps as flight instruction or training”, which I think could be particularly useful.
They offer a 20 minute limit demo, so you’ve got nothing to lose by trying it out.
