Flight Illusion releases Collins style radio modules

by mark.avey on September 27, 2007

small-CAV-comm Flight Illusion, the company specialising in the creation of hardware modules and instruments for flight simulator cockpit builders, has launched their range of Collins style radio modules.

These beautiful looking pieces of kit “faithfully replicate the Collins style CTL radio modules  as found in many medium sized aircraft. The different modules are available to make a full  avionics  stack, comprising COM, NAV, ADF and transponder (ATC).”

“The inscriptions on the bezel are backlit with LED technology. The large displays are used for active and  standby frequency. As in the real modules, the transfer between ACT and STBY frequency is done by moving the toggle switch up. The same toggle switch, when pressed down navigates through the memorized  frequencies. Up to 10 frequencies can be stored in the active memory, which remain there, regardless of the fact that the radio’s are connected or not.”

Check out their web site for further details, or download the PDF brochure here.
