Wow at £76 the price is right but the shipping doubles the cost !!!. Think I’ll hang on until it’s released, hopefully a UK supplier will be selling it at a reasonable price.

Another case of rip-off Britain by the looks of it :(

Mark - didn’t you post an item about a US supplier who opened up a shop that served the UK where you could get items at the exchange rate prices. Thinking about it that may have been Flight1, but maybe you could cast your mind back.

I’d be willing to pay ~£100 for the Yolk & Throttle given that we always end up paying more than our American cousins, but anything more would just grate.

Hi

Flightstore.co.uk £120 and you can pre order for October delivery. This is a pre order offer price.

I think the £76 quoted by pie would only cover the yoke if my understanding is correct. This site seems to be selling the units seperately!

So If i got it right the £120 is a fair price and its free delivery.

Hopefully my info is correct as i have committed to buy it but it’s such a long wait.

I think Flight 1 have a europe dispatch centre, I got stung with a £30 import tax bill for buying from Flight sim pilot shop after spending £90, so be careful buying from USA, Rip off Britian hey

Hi Jason - The Yolk & Throttle quadrant retails for $149.99 in the US as single item. This translates to £76 over here. Whilst £120 is probably the best price you can get pre-order at the moment I’m not prepared to pay more than £100 and I don’t think it will be too long before we see some more reasonable prices.

Pie - yes, that was Flight1. They’re not doing them that cheaply, but it’s certainly better than shipping from the US.

Hi

oh ok £76 covers the yoke and throttles, got my wires crossed sorry. £76 but you will have to pay an import tax approx £13 and then an admin charge of £4.50 from fed-ex. (also the delivery charge from the Usa). So i am happy to with my find and my purchase, Pie: if i see it slip under a £100 i will let you know.

Mark have you rigged a free one yet?????

cheers

Hopefully when the Jersey based game stores get hold of them competition will hot up and prices will come down. Either that or Mark will wangle another free set for the next competition :D

LOL PieEater. What’s this about a Jersey based game store?

12 Jason 07.27.07 at 12:32 pm

Lol, I think Pie Eater is reffering to Play.com, i think they wangle there way around VAT and send all games as a Gift (so the purchaser doesn’t get stitched). I buy almost everything from Play but the joystick prices aren’t as cheap as Flightstore.

http://Www.overclockers.co.uk also have excellent prices on joysticks.

On the contrary, Jason :) I think it helps everyone here if people spread the word about companies they’ve had good - or bad - experiences with.

I was thinking about play.com but there are a few other mail order companies that make use of the channel islands tax loopholes to offer decent prices. Having said that I checked the prices on play for controllers and they’re rediculously expensive, I was looking for prices on the Saitek rudder pedals and play had them for £99.99 whilst overclockers.co.uk have them for £70.49 !!

Thanks Mark, I will keep people informed if i spot a bargain, Also appreciate your work to link us with various companies and will link through the site as much as i can.

Pie keep us informed of the Jersey shop’s, I love a good loop hole lol more importantly i love a bargain.

Overclockers do give a superb service, I am eagerly awaiting my new Core 2 Duo E6850 3ghz from them tomorrow and my SATA dvd burner, only thing is £18 for saturday delivery, but i am impatient lol

cheers
Jason

No worries - I’m always on the lookout for a bargain. I’m certainly not tied to any particular company here on FlightSimX, so name-drop away :)
