Saitek are about to launch their Pro Flight Yoke System, which is sure to be in direct competition with CH Products Yoke. The yoke itself looks stunning, with a large LCD mounted on the front of the unit. I’ve included a large image so you can get a good look at it :)

Update: You can now pre-order the Saitek Pro Yoke and Throttle.

Here’s the specifications as provided on the Saitek site. I can’t wait to get my hands on one!

Whether you are landing a float plane on an isolated Alaskan lake, or crossing the Atlantic at the controls of a 747, you will appreciate the quality and realism of Saitek’s new Pro Flight Yoke System. Designed based on real aircraft and the feedback of pilots to give the best feel and response.

  • Precision elevator and aileron control through yoke
  • 14 button controls (inc. 6 on the quadrant)
  • 3-position mode switch
  • Durable, stainless steel yoke shaft
  • Ultra-stable 2 position desk clamp
  • Built-in chronometer for in-flight timing
  • Integrated 3 port USB hub (power adapter available separately)
  • Separate 3 axis lever throttle quadrant which can be mounted in different ways
  • Saitek Smart Technology programming software included
  • Mounting positions for three Saitek Flight Instrument Panels (available early 2008)

Connects via single USB port. Compatible with Windows XP, XP64, Vista, Vista 64. Works well with Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals and Pro Flight Throttle

Nice looking piece of hardware. This is what is needed to make cockpit building easier on the wallet. And 3 Saitek instrument panels? Certainly leaves my mouth watering. I hope more companys begin manufacturing affordable cockpit components. Competition can help drive prices down even more! I like the looks of the throttle quadrant too. This looks to be a winning combo!! I think we will be hearing a lot from Saitek in the future.

It does look sweet, doesn’t it? I’ve always been impressed with the build quality of Saitek gear, especially at the price. I’m currently using their X52 and have been very pleased with it.

Hey grab one now, Bught minelast night as a pe orderfrom Flightstore.com, Free uk delivery and £120 rather than £140. Bad news is delivery is for October as this s when its released.

I can quite honestly say that Flightstore are great with pre orders etc, i had my X52 Pro and pedals from them.

Apparently it will have a connection centre built in for all joystick, pedals and the future planned 3 control panels(saitek only). Prices are always good, drivers and there software i find a little iffy, but all in all I love the Saitek stuff.

Whip out the credit card gentleman

Cheers

That’s a good price, Jason. I think I’ll keep hold of the credit card just for now, but that’s purely because I have no physical space for this just now :)

It’s about time someone puts on the market a flight yoke that might not be as cheap-looking coupled with lousy feels as CH Products’ yoke. Good work, Saitek, I can’t wait for this manufacturer to completely knock CH off the market.

Nonetheless, Saitek needs to re-design the look of their other flight sticks. They look arcade-like and childish.

Hi Walter. I’m not sure I can agree regarding the quality of CH Products kit. I’ve always been very pleased with it. I do, however, strongly agree that’s it very good for us simmers for there to be competition in the market place. I think the next few months could be very interesting :)
