The iPhone version of X-Plane has been updated to version 9.02 and comes with a whole host of new features and updates.

New in version 9.02

  • More airports! There are 3 of them now, and the little RMI at the bottom of the HUD points to the closest one.
  • Map! It’s in the location screen now. Drag it around… with BOTH fingers! Pull your fingers apart and push them together! Swizzle them around! Watch what the map does!
  • The planes now have much nicer-looking propellers.
  • Lateral accelerometer calibration as well as vertical! It’s in the SET menu.
  • Some little scenery and frame-rate improvements! Kind of nice!

This is a free update for existing owners and can be downloaded here.

It’s good to see the application is getting regular updates. It looks like it’s shaping up into a “proper” simulator :)

Super!
Got the great news first from your site via email alert, and have downloaded the update.
Getting my colleagues at work to fly the X-Plane is mightily swaying them towards buying an iPhone/iPod Touch - despite what they say, the absolute respect and amazement in their eyes is so gratifying…

I’m sure it’ll sell more than a few iPhones :)
