Imagine Simulation releases KATL Atlanta for FSX and FS9
Imagine Simulation has added KATL Atlanta International Airport for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004 to their collection of airport add-ons.
ATL is the worlds busiest airport handling an incredible 90 million passengers each year. It also has more non-stop flights and serves more destinations than any other airport in the world. You will find right across the Atlanta airport land area literally thousands of objects created with incredible accuracy and placed with the aid of pin-point satellite photography.
The airport features custom made runways, terminal buildings rendered to 5cm per pixel scale, smoothly operating jetways that dock with your aircraft’s forward door with an interactive docking system to park you right on your mark, taxiways with highly realistic concrete textures, full airport taxiway and runway signage, 3D approach lighting and full ILS navigation. There are hundreds of airport vehicles and ground personnel, aircraft can be found parked at custom textured parking positions, all hangers, cargo and airport auxiliary buildings are modelled, there is even a perimeter fence - all under the steady gaze of intermittently placed security cameras!

CYYJ (2008) freeware released
Don Grovestine has released his freeware CYYJ (2008) airport for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004.
CYYJ (2008) is a Microsoft Flight Simulator FS9 and FSX add-on covering the Victoria, British Columbia, Canada international airport and surrounding area. It is compatible with UTX - Canada (FSX), with UT Canada/Alaska and several other FS9 add-ons including Victoria+, and VIVA Base, but none are required. CYYJ (2008) is provided in a single load module with installer.
CYYJ (2008) features
- An airport definition (AFCAD file) based on high-resolution aerial photos that:
- accurately places all runways and taxiways
- provides realistic taxiway and apron markings
- eliminates the rounded FS9-generated taxiway/runway intersection fillets and inserts triangular turning “gussets” where the latter exist at the real CYYJ, and
- specifies representative taxiway, runway and approach lighting
- A terminal building that, from only a short distance, could be mistaken for the real thing and about sixty other very detailed buildings - all modeled with GMax and “painted” with hand-drawn textures
- realistic terrain profiles at both ends of Runway 09/27 and at the approach end of Runway 13 (that were removed by the FS9 default flatten)
- Taxiway and apron signage accurate as to both position and content
- fencing from the fire station in West Camp, past the terminal and around to the east end of Runway 09/27 and
- drive-through” parking for airlines at the terminal and for GA throughout East Camp and West Camp (if your AI includes ACA, JZA, WJA, QXE and/or PCO, the aircraft will take their usual positions around the main terminal).
CYYJ (2008) is available for download from both Avsim.com and Flightsim.com. Please check the Status Page for known issues, patches and update information.

France VFR Releases Airport Toussus le Noble (LFPN) FSX Version
After having released the FS2004 version, France VFR is proud to announce the release of the FSX version of Airport of Toussus le Noble (LFPN).
The Toussus Airport FSX (LFPN) scenery is developed by using extremely detailed techniques including building textures, high-definition ground textures and the corresponding night textures - either for the 3D buildings as for the photorealistic textures.
France VFR emphasizes the difference between the previously developed airports: Toussus is the first one created entirely in high-definition for FS2004 and FSX and conforms to new airport design concept charts. The scenery is a stand-alone product or can be used with the Paris BasePack without any modification and fully compatible with any mesh of your choice.
The two versions (FS2004 and FSX) are sold separately with possibility of upgrading to FSX.

Airport Design Editor 1.35 released
ScruffyDucks’s popular Airport Design Editor has been updated to version 1.35:
We have today released Version 1.35. If you have Version 1.30 then the automatic on-line updater should offer to get the patch installer for you. If you have automatic checking turned off then you will need to do a manual check. If you have version 1.20 to 1.25 then you will need to do a manual check to get the file.
This version is part of our continuing development and improvement program. In addition to fixing several bugs Version 1.35 adds new functionality including
- Helper shapes that can be placed and manipulated on the work area and used to make drawing curves, rectangles etc easier
- Inclusion and placement of user models (mdl files)
- Compile to one BGL or split the airport and scenery into separate BGL files
- One click conversion of helper shapes to aprons. (Making circular aprons is now a couple of seconds work )
- User adjustable color, brightness and separation of apron edge lights(with grateful thanks to Don Grovestine)
- Improved representative drawing of taxiway junctions
- Ability to straighten out a chain of taxiway links
- Improved validation of airline codes in parking spaces
- Airport Reference Point can now be re-positioned
I would just like to place on record my thanks to the development team (they know who they are) and all our users for supporting the program and helping us to make it more relevant to community needs.
This will be the last patch update in this series. It is intended that Version 1.40 will be a full release with an updated and consolidated manual.
