Super Traffic Board released

by mark.avey on August 27, 2008

Flying-W Simulation is pleased to announce the availability of Super Traffic Board (STB) for FSX. Starting from the idea of displaying flight information as you would find at any airport, STB goes far beyond this with new and exciting ways of interacting with your AI traffic. Supporting all FSX AI packages, STB includes specially configured content for Just Flight Traffic, MyTrafficX, ORBX/FTX, Ultimate Traffic and World of AI with others to follow soon.

In addition to displaying basic arrivals and departure flight details, STB categorizes aircraft according to the operator (offering unique interpretations for Passenger, Cargo, Military and GA flights), shows flight numbers and IATA codes where available, displays real world airport names and reports advanced information including allocated runways, speed, altitude and distance of each flight from the airport.

Taking interactivity to a new level, through STB you can monitor approach airspace and automatically resolve conflicts that might otherwise result in go-arounds, dynamically optimize your traffic volumes across airports for the best possible performance, follow a flight from departure airport to destination and order flights to begin departure procedures immediately. Old favorites like View AI and Delete AI are included too.

Aerosoft releases Switzerland Professional X

by mark.avey on August 13, 2008

Aerosoft have released Switzerland Professional X for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004.

The new Switzerland Professional is the ultimate scenery for visual flights for FSX! 3D objects have been place on their true exact position throughout the whole of Switzerland. Houses have been placed on their exact locations, trees and forests have been remodelled in 3D and can be seen just as in reality.
The complete Swiss area has been modelled as a highly detailed visual scenery on the basis of photorealistic pictures. The terrain model (mesh) includes every little hill. Houses, streets, mountains, huts - everything - is visible. To ensure that the Rhine river and other areas near the border can be seen and used for orientation the developers have also included a belt around the swiss borders of a few kilometers. Very good news too is the fact that frame rates are really phenomenal. This surely is a “must have” for each and every General Aviation and PC.hobby pilot.

To increase the level of reality well-known sightseeing spots have been added. These include the parliament building in Bern, the “Grossmunster” in Zurich, the “Kapellbrücke” in Luzern, the cathedral of St Gallen and many more. Helicopter pilots will be pleased to know that the heli bases and pads were also included. All larger lakes and rivers come with the beautiful FSX water effects.

Features

  • Premiere: the first photorealistic scenery that includes winter textures!
  • Also unique: Night textures
  • Autogen buildings and forests

AlphaSim releases Ka-50 Black Shark

by mark.avey on August 9, 2008

AlphaSim have added the Ka-50 Black Shark for Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004 to their collection of helicopters.

The awesome Kamov attack helicopter swoops into action in FSX and FS9.

This outstanding premier package depicts the ‘Werewolf’ in meticulous detail - both the exterior and interior models display breathtaking realism, the v-c in particular is a major tour de force in terms of realism for both FS9 and FSX (note - FSX model is full-spec, not merely a ‘portover’) - using AlphaSim’s incredible ‘RealGauge’ technology, in-cockpit framerates and fine gauge detail reach unbelievable levels. All the actual Russian text is recreated, the Heads-Up display is also fully authentic.

The six superbly-drawn texture sets depict both real and fictitious (but probable) liveries. A full-spec sounds package adds to the outstanding ambience offered by this cutting-edge FS model. A comprehensive, fully-illustrated user manual in PDF format supplies all the information needed to fly this beast of a machine. The expertly-crafted flight model depicts the unique Kamov contra-rotating rotor system to the highest level. This is the FS addon for which fans of Russian aviation and helicopter enthusiasts alike have been waiting for.
