Just Flight releases P-38 Lightning SP1
Just Flight has released Service Pack 1 for their P-38 Lightning (see our review here).
The 23Mb Service Pack 1 update fixes a few small problems with the software and is available to download here, where you’ll find full details of the update.
This update applies to both the DVD-ROM boxed version and also the Download, and should be installed whether you use the aircraft in FSX or FS2004.
If you buy the Download version of the P-38 after today you won’t need to install this update, although anyone buying the DVD-ROM boxed version from now on will still need to download the update.
Users who installed this update before today should download and install this new version - it includes a few fixes which weren’t included in the previous version.
Please note that once the update has been installed, some keystrokes used in the aircraft operation have been simplified; there’s a link on the Support page to a PDF of the manual pages that have been amended.

Just Flight P-38 Lightning ‘Curly Six’ demo
Now this is an interesting idea. Just Flight are offering a demo of their P-38 Lightning ‘Curly Six’ demo add-on. The interesting part is that they’re offering one variant from the full package - with no time limitation - and the only downside (if you could even call it that) is that it plays a video prior to installation. I haven’t tried it, as I have the full product installed, but I assume it’s promotional material.
Could this be the start of a new trend? I think it’s a great idea. I’ve always been in favour of “try before you buy”, so well done Just Flight.
You can read our review of the P-38 and find out more about the demo from the Just Flight web site.
