SimTube (not to be confused with out recently launched FlightSimTube) has a very odd message on their web site.

Until recently, there was a message along the lines of “check back soon for a better SimTube“. Today, the page title reads “Simtube doesn’t pay their bills” and the main text of the site states “Simtube has been shut down for non-payment. Please see flightsimworld.com for videos.” (Of course, on a biased note, I’d say see FlightSimTube for videos!)

This is a pretty bizarre situation. I can only assume that the people operating SimTube didn’t actually own the domain name, or they did and the hosting provider has taken the extreme step of making this statement.

It’ll be a shame if yet another flight simulator related site has closed down. Although obviously in direct competition to our new site, competition is a good thing and it’s always sad to see a flight simulator resource lost.

Update: I’ve just checked their site again (on the 5th May) and they seem to be back online. I guess the public dressing-down was enough for them to get their payments up-to-date.
