Way too many advertisments.
Too many stories that are obviously gleaned from other places. Maybe rather then just follow other sites and duplicate the press you could post a link to that site directly.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the feedback. The advertising is always a difficult balance. I constantly monitor it and any feedback on this or any other area - positive or negative - is always welcome.
As for the stories being being “gleaned from other places”, by definition this needs to be true as I report on stories. I constantly monitor (or my software does) flight simulator related web sites and report back from that. Again, almost by definition there will be some replication across sites. You’ll normally find the same “story” on avsim.com, flightsim.com and others as we’re all looking at the same sources and receiving the same press releases, in the same way that you’ll get the same news on BBC and Sky. I do try and seek out those stories that nobody else picks up first, though, and try and add my “personal touch” (for better or for worse!) where I can.
Again, thanks for taking the time to post some feedback.

I’d like to further the discussion on advertising on the site. Would people be prepared to pay for access to the site, either by way of a donation or by paid membership, if it meant the removal of all advertising? My experience from other sites tends to suggest that, whilst a lot of people generally reply “yes” to that question, when it comes time to actually make that donation or pay a subscription, there’s, shall we say, a certain reluctance
I’d be really interested in any feedback on this matter. In fact, I’ve created a new discussion in the forum on this very subject which you can find at http://tinyurl.com/2d9xwp
