Air.C74.Net has released a Cessna SkyCatcher for X-Plane 8.5+. X-Plane is currently the only personal flight simulator that has this aircraft as an add-on.
I must admit, I didn’t even know this aircraft existed! A little bit of Googling took me to the official SkyCatcher web site and it looks like a lovely little aircraft. Here’s what Cessna have to say about it:
The new Cessna SkyCatcher is a high-wing, two-seat plane constructed primarily of aluminum with some composites in the airframe. The interior is replete with carbon-fiber seats that are fixed in place, with rudder pedals that adjust fore and aft to accommodate different pilots.
The avionics system is a new Garmin G300 all-glass panel developed especially for the SkyCatcher. All flight instrumentation, engine instrumentation, and a moving map are presented through a single display panel. A Garmin SL40 com transceiver, GTX327 Mode C transponder, VFR GPS, and a 121.5 MHz ELT round out the standard avionics complement. The cockpit also features dual panel-mounted control sticks. The SkyCatcher will be capable of visual flight rules/day/night operations.
The G300 appears to be very nicely modeled in the Air.C74.Net add-on. I’m looking forward to taking a closer look at it.
